Fuji Excursion (Fuji Kaiyu) runs from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko without a change, with stops at Mt. Fuji Station and Fuji-Q Highland on the way. Morning trains leave Shinjuku between 7:30 and 10:30; afternoon trains come back from Kawaguchiko.

From Shinjuku the three Fuji Excursion cars run coupled to a longer Kaiji or Azusa train and split off at Otsuki. Board cars 1–3 — the rest of the train goes elsewhere.

Every seat is reserved. When reserved seats sell out you can still buy a 'seat not assigned' ticket (座席未指定券) and sit in any seat that isn't booked.
