The Odakyu Romancecar is the fastest one-seat ride from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto. The GSE (70000 series) has observation seats at both ends — you sit where the driver would on most trains.

The Hakone Freepass covers the fare; the Romancecar limited-express fee is extra.

    It contains a barcode or pickup number. Allow a few days, and check the holding period.

    Collect at the counter

    Show the code at the register (or print a slip at Lawson's Loppi terminal). No hotel front-desk hassle.
