Hanshin and Kintetsu trains run through from Kobe-Sannomiya to Kintetsu-Nara on one line. From 7 November 2026 to 31 March 2027 the two railways run a joint goshuin trail — goshuin are the hand-written or stamped seals that temples and shrines give to visitors.
Ten temples and shrines along the line give a special seal made just for this trail, letterpress-printed with gold foil, for ¥1,000 each (3,000 per temple or shrine, while they last). In Nara: Kasuga Taisha and Kofukuji (Kintetsu-Nara Station), Yakushiji and Toshodaiji (Nishinokyo Station). In Osaka: Hiraoka Shrine (Hiraoka), Namba Yasaka Shrine (Osaka-Namba) and Tsuyunoten Shrine, also called Ohatsu Tenjin (Osaka-Umeda). In Hyogo: Kifune Shrine (Amagasaki / Deyashiki), Ikuta Shrine (Kobe-Sannomiya) and Minatogawa Shrine (Kosoku-Kobe).
There is also a goshuin book (¥3,000, 2,000 copies) showing Hanshin's new 3000 series and Kintetsu's Aoniyoshi sightseeing express among flowers, and station-only "train seals" (¥1,500 each with a clear file, 3,000 per railway). Hanshin sells them at Osaka-Umeda and Amagasaki stationmaster's offices (8:00–21:00), the Hanshin Nishinomiya information centre and the Hanshin service centre at Kobe-Sannomiya; Kintetsu at its Kintetsu-Namba and Uehommachi station offices.
For visitors
- Kasuga Taisha, Kofukuji, Yakushiji and Toshodaiji are all part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara World Heritage site — this is an easy way to link them in one trip from Osaka or Kobe.
- Namba Yasaka Shrine doesn't give the special seal in January 2027 (only November–December and February–March). Hours differ at each temple and shrine, and change around New Year.
- Temples and shrines are places of worship — the railways ask you to follow each site's etiquette when you visit. Buying to resell is not allowed.
- Hanshin and Kintetsu are not JR, so the JAPAN RAIL PASS doesn't cover these trains.
