Enoden's 1000 series pair 1002-1052 will end regular service in January 2027. Since the evening of 27 October 2026 it has carried a farewell headmark reading "1002 LAST RUN". The headmark shows the train's original livery from its debut, with a black pine (Fujisawa's city tree), the sea along the line, and a ginkgo tree like the one at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.
For many years 1002-1052 has run in Kyoto purple, the colour of Kyoto's Randen tramway, as a symbol of the sister-railway link between Enoden and Keifuku Electric Railway. Its last weeks keep that link going: plush toys of Enon and Aran, the two companies' mascots, ride in the driver's cab.
Enoden says the timetable for this car can change without notice. Station staff can tell you whether it is running from 21:00 the day before, or on the day.
For visitors
- Enoden runs between Fujisawa and Kamakura via Enoshima and Hase. Car 1002 runs in normal service, so any regular Enoden ticket or pass is fine.
- If you want to photograph it, Enoden asks you to follow its rules and stay off the tracks — the line runs through narrow streets and right past houses.
- Enoden's sister line in Kyoto is the Randen (Keifuku Arashiyama Line) — a nice pairing if your trip covers both Kamakura and Arashiyama.
